Wedding planning is stressful, but there are measures you can take to avoid becoming too overwhelmed to enjoy the experience.

Tip #1 – Hire a Planner and Coordinator
First and foremost, hiring a wedding planner and/or coordinator will significantly decrease your stress levels during your wedding planning and on the day of your wedding. This may seem biased coming from wedding planners/coordinators, but we know firsthand how hectic the planning process and day-of can be. Hiring professionals to make certain that all aspects of your wedding day are considered and achieved day-of is essential for anything larger than a court-house endeavor. Wedding planners can help you save money in the long run by suggesting reputable vendors and coordinating with the vendors that you choose.
Tip #2 – Delegate
Our Type A brides and grooms may have an especially difficult time with this task; however, it is vital that you refrain from having the last say on every little detail. It can be much easier to trust your vendors to make the detail-oriented decisions when they have gleaming recommendations and their work closely aligns with your vision. When it comes to friends and family, you should not be afraid to ask for their support. Asking your parents, in-laws, siblings, and wedding party to help out can lighten the load.
Tip #3 – Organize
A bride’s best friend is a binder specifically for wedding-related information. Whether physical or electronic, saving everything from vendor contracts to inspiration photos will make it easier to communicate your vision and find information as needed. In addition to filing away everything wedding related, make sure to create documents to centralize that information. Creating vendor contact sheets, spreadsheets with the vendors duties and pricing, and documents to denote who is responsible for individual tasks during particular wedding-related events (for example, you or your finacés, your vendors, or your friends or families responsibilities during the rehearsal dinner). Though a planner/coordinator may do this for you, it may ease your mind to physically see that everything is accounted for.
All in all, find what works for you and do whatever you can to keep yourself stress-free while planning for your wedding day.
Cheers,
