Kyla and Jake are tying the knot tomorrow, Saturday, April 15! We asked them to share a bit with us about their story.

Jake and I met back in 2019 at a local tea shop near the beach. At the time Jake was living down the street and I was working near by, so we would both find ourselves there often. On the first night Jake and I met we were just hanging out and we struck up a conversation, we talked that night for hours going very late into the nigh. After that we continued seeing each other there, and would always talk. Jake knew from that first conversation that he was interested in me, but it took me a little while to get the hint. We had a lot in common which really helped us to connect to one another and bond. One day out of the blue Jake called me to go to dinner, I still didn’t realize that he was interested and turned him down. Luckily he did not give up and the next time I did agree to go to dinner with him. We have been together ever sense.
One thing that I think is special about our relationship is that we continue to encourage each other to grow. Sense we have been together Jake has finished his bachelor degree and started on his masters degree at Ambry Riddle University. I went back to school at Eastern Florida State College, where I have just finished my AA and am now working on getting my AS and license as a radiography technician.
As far as hobbies Jake really loves to take his FJ off roading with his friends, unfortunately the Florida sand is not the best to do this in so he has not been able to enjoy it too much sense living in Florida. Together we really love to take one of our dogs to the dog park, and recently we have been starting to check out the local gun range. I really enjoy painting and crafting (which the wedding has given me plenty of opportunity to do), I also enjoy gardening, but much of my time these days go to homework.

Cheers,
