This month we are happy to be featuring a fantastic DJ, DJ Dutty Laundry!

Q. How long have you been a DJ?
A. I have been a DJ since I was 15 years old. I started off in the era of vinyl and crates, no fancy controllers, no small cute speakers, back when it took a team to DJ a gig. I have done everything in the realm of being a DJ from radio personality, clubs, tours, artists, mixtapes to now wedding and corporate events… I have achieved the Holy Grail in deejaying.
Q. What got you interested in the wedding industry/deejaying in general?
A. Two things: I did a wedding for a friend back in 2019 and had so much fun and realized how different it was to what I thought was corny deejaying from 2010 prior. The second was I went out of town with my wife IG @thebeatteach where she was doing makeup for a client in Nashville and I drove to and back, sat in the car while she worked and saw how the clients treated and loved her for how well she did her job, and what an impact it made on their day. I was hooked.
Q. What are some of your favorite things about weddings and the part you play?
A. I love all the wonderful venues and other marvelous vendors I get to share a stage with each and every week. There are some truly amazing, wonderful people in this industry and especially in Chattanooga. But most importantly I genuinely love my craft, the art form of being a DJ and the impact I have on a major day in someone’s life. My thing is the #DuttyClub it is like my own family of young professionals, my team, my crew and it’s a lot of wonderful people in it and I love them for trusting me to even want to be a part of it.
Q. Your ideal client or advice for couples such as a must-have wedding event/item, best songs to play, etc.
A. I cannot say I have an ideal client, or a best song to play (that changes like the weather). I can say though that I truly and sincerely love creating memories, something to hold onto in the toughest of times, because marriage is hard work, it’s a job. If someone booked me or is considering booking me, hopefully they want my type of energy and my brand of crazy to make their day the best ever. If they don’t want the massive party or if they want someone to sit in a corner and press play, the traditional formal stuff that’s dry and monotone, or, shoot, if they want to create their own playlist and have their cousin Eric emcee I understand. I cannot be there because DuttyClub is bigger than that and DuttyClub members know it.
