This month we are excited to be featuring our friend-or Mindy Burns! Mindy has worked with a few of our brides and never disappoints.

Q. How long have you been a hairstylist?
A. I have been in the beauty industry for 14 years. I have specialized in weddings since 2016.
Q. What got you interested in the wedding industry/hair in general?
A. I have always been a creative person. Styling hair has always been my passion. I once had an instructor tell me I wasn’t ever going to make any money because I didn’t want to really cut or color. I wanted to focus on styling. The beauty industry has changed so much since i was in school in 2008. Blowout bars have become part of normal self care routines and getting your hair styled for any event is just what we women do these days. I love helping women feel confident and empowered and if having your hair styled does that for you then DO IT!
Q. What are some of your favorite things about weddings and the part you play?
A. I love to witness all the love and hard work that goes into a wedding. I love to make women feel and look their best. The notion that someone thought so highly of me to trust me with their hair for such an important day in their lives is so special to me. Typically I can see the love that a bride is feeling or giving. I have a few that really stick out to me and sometimes I share those stories with other people. Love is real!
Q. Your ideal client or advice for couples such as a must-have wedding event/item, best songs to play, etc.
A. I love for my brides to give me creative freedom of course, but I always want them to be comfortable and confident in the final style. I think having realistic expectations for their hair texture and density is important. A few quick tips: I can do more with hair that is too clean vs hair that is too dirty and don’t forget the visine! That will help keep your eyes white for pictures. I have some other tips, but I will save those for my bridal trials! 😉
