Q. How long have you been operating Selfie Stop?
A. I started Selfie Stop back in 2016 and it became my full-time job in 2019.
Q. What got you interested in the wedding industry/photo booths for events?
A. I have always had a passion for taking pictures. I started as a wedding photographer back in 2011 and I started getting more and more clients asking if I could set up a makeshift photo booth. Finally, I decided that this whole photo booth thing wasn’t just a trend and I decided to invest in a legitimate, high quality, photo booth. Soon the demand for a great photo booth outweighed the demand for a wedding photographer so I decided to buy a few more booths and really lean into providing a unique and memorable experience. We aren’t an add-on to a DJ package or a venue package, photo booths are the only thing we focus on!
Q. What are some of your favorite things about weddings and the part you play?
A. I love interacting with the guests, suggesting fun poses, and seeing them smile when I hand them the printed out photos. Sometimes I like to think about all the refrigerators that my photos are on, all the memories we’ve made! Also, more times than not, we have the bride reach out to us afterwards about how great it was to look through all the photos of their friends and family acting goofy in the booth. I think we play a key part of any reception! Gives the guests something to do when they aren’t dancing and makes for a great personalized party favor.
Q. Your ideal client or advice for couples such as a must-have wedding event/item, best songs to play, etc.
We have a large variety of clients. From birthday parties to zombie conventions to elopement weddings and everything in between! The beauty of our photo booth is that we can find a way to fit almost any budget. So If you are looking for some unique, custom-made memories… We are the booth for you. We’ve done over 400 weddings at this point and besides having the best photo booth in the south 😉 I have found the 2 most important things are a good planner and an interactive DJ.
