Q. How long have you been in the business of specialty rentals and wedding design?
A. Six years! Can hardly believe it’s been that long.
Q. What got you interested in the wedding industry/specialty rentals/design in general?
Lisa – I have always had my hand in design for both home interiors and weddings. I am always tweaking things in my home to make it lovely, welcoming and functional and often found myself helping others do the same. When my children began to get married I had a lot of fun applying myself to creating a wonderful wedding that reflected them and this special time in their lives. But, it was Anna that proposed jumping into the wedding industry. I just came along for the ride.
Anna – Me and my sisters had a lot of fun emptying mom’s house of her vintage treasures to bring our own wedding visions to life, and at some point it occurred to me that not everyone has a mom with those things! So the idea of getting to collect and share specialty rental items with brides immediately appealed. The design side of it came later – we always loved styling our inventory for styled shoots, and early on our clients started asking us to help them do the same. Since then, the design side has grown into one of our favorite parts of our job!
Q. What are some of your favorite things about weddings and the part that you play?
A. Our favorite thing about being involved in weddings is that we get to help make them beautiful! The design aesthetic of a wedding is the first thing that communicates to guests as they walk in that they are about to be a part of a very special event. And we love being involved in that! We have spent a lot of time curating the pieces in our collection to be used in a one-of-a-kind design for each wedding in which they are incorporated. Celebrating meaningful moments by creating beautiful spaces is our motto. Whether we are choosing a new piece to add to our inventory or working to create a unique Design Blueprint for a client, we keep that in mind. Every wedding should be beautiful and have that special touch. When we get involved, bringing that to fruition is our goal. We love the part we play!
Q. Your ideal client or your advice for couples, such as must-have wedding event/item, best songs to play, etc.?
A. We would encourage couples to give thought to how their wedding can be designed to reflect their desired wedding experience. It can be the little details and touches that make all the difference. That’s why we encourage our clients to use specialty items such as goblets or dish wares, create stunning tablescapes, or incorporate an inviting lounge for guests to enjoy. The creative options are endless!
