Hey you Perfectly Planned,
Don’t let guest list preparations get you down. Now that you have said yes generally one of the first things perfectly planned couples do is draft a guest list. Here are three tips to help you keep your guest list limited to those who matter most and your wedding budget from driving you into debt.
1. Make three guests list. Your first draft is your dream list which is going to include everyone you would invite if finances were a non factor. Your second list is your “A” list. These individuals have to be there they are your closest family and friends and you would be broken if they were not present. Your third list is your B list. These are the people you would like to attend but substantial time has past since you have last spoken to them or you would like them to come but only if the budget changes or you are able to save cost elsewhere and they can later be added to the “A” list.
2. Use your filter .your wedding is an intimate moment, only invite those persons who truly support you in your life and deeply care about your well being and happiness. If you invite someone and you can’t say that the previous statement applies consider questioning your real motive with inviting them in the first place.
3. Be clear on who gets the final say. Many times parents have an entirely different list of those persons they would like to invite which is a far cry from who you and your fiancé would like to invite. However, if parents are helping to support the cost of your wedding you will certainly want to consider giving them a say as to who is on the “A” list.
