We will be featuring Josealyn Pontius: content manager and associate coordinator. Josealyn has been working with us for nearly four months now!

Q. Is your position at CTC your primary job?
A. I am currently also working as a graduate assistant (GA) at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) part-time, and I just began my graduate degree at UTC in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am taking classes full-time.
Q. What are some of your favorite aspects of working in the wedding industry?
A. I love learning new skills and working with people; it would be odd if I didn’t as a graduate student pursuing a degree in counseling. As a social media content manager, I explore photos of our couple’s wedding days and consider what engaged couples could benefit from. As an associate coordinator, I enjoy working with couples, decorating, and watching the day unfold.
Q. What are some of your wedding favorites?
A. I adore delicate florals, little decadent desserts, and signature cocktails. Moving away from the physical aspects of a wedding, I love genuine moments between the couple, their family, and their friends. Taking time to breathe with your loved ones is essential to enjoying your wedding day, and capturing these moments with photos and/or video preserves the moments you’ll cherish most.
Q. Do you have any suggestions for our CTC couples?
A. A few different things…
- I don’t care who’s paying for your wedding; you and your fiancé make the final decisions. Don’t succumb to your family and friend’s opinions or demands.
- Thoroughly review your vendor options. You should feel confident in who you choose to contribute to your wedding and be able to trust them.
- Consider who will advocate for you on the day of your wedding. Whether it is a wedding coordinator, family member, or a friend, you can’t concern yourself with every question your vendors will have, and your advocate needs to know your vision and expectations.
Cheers,
