The rings you wear on your wedding day will be the only part that will stay with you forever. Selecting these rings may seem daunting, but a few key things will help guide you include individual preference, budget, and quality.

Individual Preference
This way everyone feels confident and happy with the selection. What you want to wear on your finger for the rest of your life is more important than the desires of your fiancé or family. Taking their advice and suggestions is certainly important, but if you cannot stand the idea of wearing something everyday, don’t buy it. Many brides have an idea of setting and bands that they would prefer, but if you don’t already have a good idea of what you like, do your research. Look at jeweler’s websites, look into all the customization options, and make a list of aspects you do and don’t like. Obviously, most often the engagement ring is selected by one’s fiancé, so, if you are particular about what you like, make sure to have that information available to your significant other (Pinterest boards, ring size, etc.).
Budget & Quality
Your budget is clearly important to the process of buying anything; however, you don’t want to skimp on quality for affordability. Once again, do your research. There are plenty of affordable options regarding diamond substitutes, but you must consider durability if you intend to wear your wedding ring every day. Some gems will not hold up to daily wear and different settings (prongs holding gems, higher ring settings, etc.) have the potential to bend and lose gems or snag clothing. Given that most couples intend to wear their rings most days for the rest of their lives, durability is a huge factor. Though durability is something to keep in mind when looking for cost effective solutions, there are plenty of durable and affordable options nowadays.

Last but not least, ensure you have your rings on your photographer’s list of detail photos on the day of your wedding. These photos are mesmerizing!
